Update #2 -
On March 24, 2020, Governor Kevin Stitt announced amendments to Executive Order 2020-07. The amended Executive Order provides for the following statewide measures:
- Issues a statewide “Safer at Home” order for adults over the age of 65 and vulnerable individuals with serious underlying medical conditions.
- Limits gatherings to no more than 10 people.
- Prohibits visitations to nursing homes and long-term care facilities.
- Postpones all elective surgeries, minor medical procedures and non-emergency dental procedures until April 7, 2020.
The amended Executive Order provides for the following measures in counties with community spread:
- Requires restaurants in Oklahoma counties with confirmed COVID-19 cases to provide take-out and delivery options only and closes all bars in those counties.
- Closes all businesses not identified as being within a critical infrastructure sector, such as gyms, salons, massage parlors and movie theaters, where counties have community spread effective March 25 at 11:59PM through April 15. Additions may be added by Executive Order or memorandum.
Please note: the restaurant and business closure measures do include Chickasha and Grady County, as there is a confirmed case of COVID-19 in Grady County.
During the press conference, the governor also announced the State of Oklahoma is working on a plan to designate hospitals in Oklahoma and Tulsa County to treat all COVID-19 patients. This will occur through attrition.

Update #1: Governor Stitt Issues Statewide Executive Order enforcing a Safer at Home order statewide. Under this order, the following enforcements are made:
- Elderly and individuals who are immunocompromised or have pre-existing condition are ordered to shelter in their homes, leaving only for essential needs like groceries or prescriptions, until April 30.
- Non-essential businesses that are in Oklahoma counties with confirmed cases of COVID-19 must close by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25. Grady County is included in this closure.
- Businesses explicitly listed include: hair salons, gyms, theaters, massage parlors, tattoo parlors, museums, etc.
- Restaurants may remain open in these counties but must close their dine-in area, offering instead curbside pickup and delivery.
- Elective surgeries, minor medical procedures, and non-emergency dental procedures are suspended beginning March 25 for the next two weeks to preserve medical supplies and PPE for COVID-19 response.
- Gatherings of 10 or more individuals are prohibited
- Visitors at nursing homes, retirement or long-term care facilities are restricted.

Grady County is one of the 19 counties affected by Governor Stitt’s order on Tuesday, March 24. We are awaiting additional information from his office. At this time, here is what we know:
- All non-essential businesses must close by 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, for 21 days. This includes businesses with close contact: hair salons, gyms, theaters, etc.
- No gatherings of more than 10 people.
- The order also includes that vulnerable populations must stay athome until April 30, with the exception of essential travel, which includes going to the grocery store or pharmacy.
