CHICKASHA, Okla. – December 17, 2019 – On Friday, December 6, John Holt made a $5,000 donation to both the Chickasha Fire Department and the Chickasha Police Department. Over breakfast and lunch, respectively, Holt made the presentation, thanking firefighters and police officers for their service to Chickasha.
“There’s nothing like first responders,” said Holt. “You all do so much for the community that goes unnoticed. I just want to say thank you to you guys and gals for all you do for us.”
Holt said that first responders helped him after a health emergency last January.
“I thank you for all that,” Holt said. “I’m alive!”
Holt also made a $5,000 donation to Chickasha Public Schools. Mayor Chris Mosley said he was encouraged by Holt’s generosity.
“We are grateful for him giving back to first responders and community in this way,” Mosley said.
Holt said he hopes his gift will encourage others to give back this season as well.
