The City of Chickasha and Chickasha Public Schools are proud to announce the results of the Coats for Chickasha drive, held earlier this month. With the community’s help, a total of 321 jackets and 255 other warm items, including gloves, scarves and warm hats, were donated to the drive, which benefited students attending Chickasha Public Schools.

On Friday, November 15, City staff delivered the donations to the High School Activity Center, where Chickasha principals were able to select the sizes children at their schools needed.

Jennifer Stegman, Chickasha Public Schools Interim Superintendent, said the coats donated will fill a need for many students.

“We would like to thank citizens for their donations to Coats for Chickasha,” said John Noblitt, City Manager. “Heading into the cold winter months, we know these items will help children in our community focus on learning and playing, rather than struggling to stay warm.”

The City of Chickasha would like to thank Green Bay Packaging, Walmart Supercenter #113 in Chickasha, the Walmart Distribution Center in Pauls Valley and Pizza Express for their support of the coat drive.
