The Chickasha Public Works Department is proud to announce that the Phase I of the Grand Avenue construction project will be completed by September 8th. Beginning Thursday morning, the north side of Grand Ave. will be blocked similarly to the south side and all traffic flow will switch to the two eastbound lanes of Grand Avenue from 12th to 29th street.
“We (City) are actually very pleased with the progress that has been made and hope that all phases will go as smoothly,” said Rob Camp, Public Works Project Manager. “Phase I was actually completed approximately 10 days earlier than the contract had originally allocated.”
The driving public is encouraged to pay attention during all phases of this project for changes in traffic flow, lane closures and closed entrances as needed off Grand Avenue. Phase II is estimated to take 20 days to complete.
Beginning Thursday, parents and bus drivers will be able to use normal pick up and drop off lanes that had been previously re-routed. The City would like to thank the parents and the school district for their patience during Phase I.
