The Chickasha Public Works Department has closed the railroad crossing on Chickasha Avenue between 15th and 16th street. This closure is expected to last for a week. During this time the crossing arms, lights and surface area will be repaired and replaced.
“This is the first of two crossings to be replaced in this manner,” said Rob Camp, Publics Works Projects Manager. “These upgrades needed to be made for a long time and we are thankful railroad funds became available for these projects.”
The second crossing to be upgraded will be the crossing a few blocks west of 20th street on Georgia.
