3:25 p.m. Update
The parts are in for the 14th & Georgia repair! Our Public Works Director drove to Oklahoma City to pick up the parts needed for this repair so that crews could continue working – it is a team effort to get water completely restored across town. That said, crews are now working at 14th & Georgia to repair the leak at that location.
Once that repair is complete, crews plan to move back to 19th & Alabama, pending completion of utility locates – we can’t dig until we make sure we aren’t going to hit gas lines and other utilities – safety first.
As you’ve likely noticed, these leaks are not simple fixes, and we do have many across town. Please be assured our crews are working as quickly and safely as possible to get the job done correctly, and that our administration is assessing the impact of each one while prioritizing jobs. We appreciate your continued patience and understanding.
11:25 a.m. Update
Public Works just completed repairs at 10th & Virginia. We are waiting on parts needed for the 14th & Georgia repair, so crews are instead headed to 19th & Alabama (previously reported as 20th & Alabama) to get started on that repair.
The parts for the 14th & Georgia repair are expected to be in this afternoon, and crews will be able to start on that location next.
Again, we are monitoring all leaks to ensure the largest, most impactful leaks are repaired first, and our schedule is altered as needed for efficiency. We will continue to provide updates as available and appreciate your continued patience.
10:30 a.m. Update
Our crews are out again this morning working to repair leaks. The first stop of today is 10th & Virginia, which will be followed by 14th & Georgia then 20th & Alabama. While this is our current plan we will continue to share updates all day, including when repairs are completed.

4:20 p.m. Update
Upon further assessment, crews will begin repairs on the 14th & Arkansas/Georgia location tomorrow, Thursday, February 18. This delay is because of the location of the leak in proximity to a fire hydrant and the potential complications that could cause as crews lose light and temperatures drop.
3:30 p.m. Update
The repairs at Ada Sipuel & Sheppard and at 1st & Georgia are complete. Public Works crews are now loading up to move to 14th & Arkansas. Crews will monitor the weather conditions to ensure they are able to safely complete this repair.
Due to the unexpected leak at 1st & Georgia, we have had to shift our schedule and anticipate starting repairs at 20th & Alabama tomorrow morning. We are monitoring all leaks to ensure the largest, most impactful leaks are repaired first. We will continue to provide updates as available.
1:25 p.m. Update
Public Works crews are wrapping up the repair at Sheppard & Ada Sipuel. Crews will be making an unscheduled repair at 1st & Georgia, related to the Sheppard & Ada Sipuel repair. Once that leak is repaired they plan to move to 14th & Arkansas.
10:30 a.m. Update
Public Works crews are shutting down water to repair the break at Ada Sipuel and Sheppard St.
This could impact residents in the area from Genevieve to 4th St. and from Ada Sipuel to Alabama.
We do not have a timeframe for how long this outage will last but will update with more information when available.
