[ARCHIVED] Chickasha City Clerk Announces Results of Recall Petition Validation

October 5, 2020

The Chickasha City Clerk today announced the validation of the recall petition for Ward 2 Councilmember Kimberly Loggins with insufficient valid signatures for Ward 2. Pursuant to Article Fifteen, Section 3 of the City of Chickasha Charter, the Chickasha City Clerk declares the petition null and void and of no consequence.

The Ward 2 recall petition required signatures from 25 percent of those electors who voted for the particular elective office in question in the last city council election or 143 total signatures. Of the 177 signatures submitted for Councilmember Kimberly Loggins, more than 145 were found to be invalid, making it impossible to meet the required number. Signatures were found to be invalid for reasons such as not casting a ballot during the April 2, 2019 Municipal Elections.
