Police Officer:


This is responsible general duty police work in protecting the life, persons, and property of the citizens of the City of Chickasha through equitable enforcement of laws and ordinances.


An employee in this class functions as the initial responding officer on police calls, conducts investigations, and maintains routine patrol activities to preserve the peace, enforce laws, prevent and deter crime, protect life and property, arrest suspected violators of the law, and render service to the public.


An employee in this class may be assigned special duties such as criminal investigation, drug and alcohol law enforcement and/or education responsibilities, K-9 patrol, and Lake Chickasha patrol tasks.  Duties are performed under general supervision in accordance with well-established police practices, standards, and departmental policy and regulations.  This work may frequently involve hazardous or strenuous tasks, but always involves the exercise of initiative and independent judgment in emergency situations. Salary Uncertified: $35,070.85/ Certified: $36,086.78

Communications Specialist I      


This is responsible and specialized clerical work in the dispatching of E-911 calls, police, animal control, fire, ambulance, public works, and county crews.


An employee in this class in responsible for receiving and sending messages via radio, OLETS computer, and telephone.  The incumbent is also responsible for talking to the public and dealing with their problems or concerns (or for directing them to the correct public official to handle their situation).  The work is performed in accordance with a standard routine.  General supervision is received from an appropriate police supervisor, but the employee is expected to function independently.  Salary $26,730.08

Youth Services Librarian:

This is specialized professional work primarily in the planning, organizing and directing of children and teen services and activities for the Chickasha Public Library.

An employee in this class supervises collection development, and programming for public library services to children and teens and to adults who work with them.  The incumbent has the responsibility for promoting the youth library services by acquainting children and teens with the Library through classroom visits and in-house educational programs and activities.  This employee also performs a variety of circulation and public service work.  The work is performed under the general supervision of the Library Director, and reviewed through reports, presentations, conferences, and observation of results obtained. $33,384.00 /yr.
